Title:		PORTRAIT OF CHARLES CHILTON
		Born Sept. 26, 1818, Warrenton, Virginia. Died Nov. 17, 1847, Boonville, Missouri of typhoid fever, age 29. Buried on family farm, Bunceton, MO. Lawyer; admitted to the bar in 1839, practiced in Boonville, Missouri. Son of Stephen and Susan Turner Chilton who moved with their family from Virginia to Franklin, Missouri circa 1830-35. Brother of Samuel Chilton. Married Mary Emma Chilton (1820-1907)of Warrenton, VA on Feb. 2, 1844; two children: Eloise Chilton (1846-1923) and Susan Chilton Cully (1845-1926).
